IELTS Writing - Pie charts

In Writing Task 1, you may be asked to describe pie charts. 
Pie charts are usually in percentages which add up to 100 per cent. You need to .. know verbs that help you describe proportion, e.g. account for.
 You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

The Task:

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
The pie charts show the percentage of students studying different areas of history  at university department in the UK in 2000 and in 2010.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.


 

 
Write sentences about the charts using the words below. Compare your sentences with the prompts.

  1. The pie chart presents information about numbers of students who studying different areas of history at university department in the uk in 2000 and 2010
    The most noticeable indicator was medieval history and ancient history. Their rates were highest in 2000 and amounted to 25 per cent, but in 2010 their rate decreased more than twofold and amounted to 5 per cent and 10 per cent respectively. The indicator called 'Archaeology' also showed a downfall trend from 15 to 10 per cent. The indicators called “Modern history” and “Social history” is highlighted for its growth for more than twice (from 20 per cent to 45 per cent and from 5 per cent to 20 per cent respectively).
    The pie chart demonstrate information of fluctuating statistic. It is worth paying attention to the data of history of warfare because it is only indicator who was unchanged.
