8TH GRADE. UNIT 6. TRADITIONAL BELARUS

 UNIT OBJECTIVES

By the end of the unit Ss will

  • be able to use the active vocabulary of the unit
  • be able to use complex sentences with object clauses in the present and past and Future-in-the-Past in speech
  • have practised reading and listening about different Belarusian tradi-tions, crafts and souvenirs, ancient beliefs and festivals
  • be able to ask for and share information about rites and local festivals
  • be able to describe Belarusian traditions, festivals and crafts
  • be able to write a letter about a visit to a local festival

COMMUNICATIVE AREA


1) describing: Belarusian crafts, Belarusian family customs and traditions, traditional Belarusian festivals; 
2) helping a tourist to buy a Belarusian souvenir; 
3) talking about: the history of Belarusian crafts and ancient beliefs, celebrating the birthday of a city, a festival of medieval culture, Belarusian traditions as part of the World Heritage; 
4) writing a letter about a local festival.
