IELTS Writing Task 1: Pie Chart 1

Energy Capacity in 2015 and 2040

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

The pie charts below compare the proportion of energy capacity in gigawatts (GW) in 2015 with the predictions for 2040.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

  1. The pie charts show the proportion of energy capacity in gigawatts in 2015 and the predictions for 2040.
The most notable indicator is fossil fuel that predicts a decline from 64% in 2015 to 44% in 2040. In the same time, solar energy rocket from 2% in 2015 to 18% in 2040. The increase in the proportion of wind is also clearly visible, which has more than doubled from 5 percent to 12. Сlearly, some of proposed energy sources show a slight correction: nuclear energy will show one percent decrease from 6% in 2015 to 5% in 2040, other renewables dip from 23% in 2015 to 21% in 2040.
Summing up, the information from data of pie charts demonstrate sharp increase in energy of fossil fuels, solar energy and wind resourses, except nuclear and other renewables which will show some fluctuation.

  2. The pie charts present us the proportion of Energy Capasity between 2015 and 2040 years.
The biggest proportion takes the Fossil Fuels, which took the highest point in 2015,it is about 64% and will plunge for 44% in 2040. It shows us,that the proportion will descend in 20 percent. Regarding the percentage of the Nuclear,it will fall to 5 percent in 2040 from 6 percent in 2015.
On the contraty, the percentage of the Wind will increase in a half, before it was about 5%. Furthermore, the Solar will descend actually more than 15% in 2040 despite the amount of in 2015.To sum up,the number of the other renewables was approximately 23% in 2015 and throughout the period it will drop for 2%.
In the end,the pie charts demonstrate us marginally increases and decreases,in comparison between those two section. It shows us,that the most considerable changing was in the sphere of the Fossil Fuels, and the less significant was the Nuclear.

    1. The pie charts present the proportion of Energy Capacity between 2015 and 2040 years. The Energy Capacity is measured in gigawatts.
The biggest proportion takes the Fossil Fuels, which took the highest point in 2015, it was about 64% and it will plunge to 44% in 2040. It shows us, that the dole got from the Fossil fuels will descend in 20 percent. Regarding the percentage of the Nuclear power, it will fall negligibly to 5 percent in 2040 from 6 percent in 2015.
On the contrary, the percentage of the Wind will increase more than in half, previously it was about 5%. Furthermore, the Solar energy Capacity will rocket significantly to 18% in 2040 in comparison with the amount of it equaled to percent in 2015.
To sum up, the number of other renewables was approximately 23% in 2015 and throughout the period it will drop for 2% to 21% in 2040.
Overall, the pie charts demonstrate considerable increases in Solar and Wind sources of Energy Capacity between 2015 and 2040 and marginal decreases in consumption of nuclear power and Energy Capacity taken from other renewables. They show that the most considerable changing was in the sphere of the Fossil Fuels, and the less significant was the Nuclear power.
