  1. Every nation is rich in famous figures and people. Every nation has it's own national heroes. And Britain can be proud of it's sons and daughters. Among famous names of Britain such as Margaret Thatcher, William Shakespeare, Isaac Newton and many others there is almost unknown one for us.
Bernard Law Montgomery is one of the most important and successful commanders in the history of Britain. Bernard took main parts almost in every campaign of both world wars. But his main success he gained in Alamein's campaign.
Bernard Law Montgomery was born in 1887 in London.
WARNING! Interesting fact! Bernard's father was a bishop and in 1889 the family had to move to Tasmania.
Than Montgomery started his army career. Thanks to his talent and determination he achieved the rank of General very fast. But not the rank makes him distinctive. His talent saved many lives during the Second World War. One of the most bright episodes in his career is Alamein's campaign. During this campaign both sides of conflict were lacking of fuel and recourses. But the need of holding positions and pushing enemy's position caused new type of action. Some historians even name this campaign "fake war" because both sides used fake guns, tanks, line of communication, whole airports and itc. And in this fake war field where everything can be a lie Montgomery won and saved many lives cause of wise and right orders. Bernard's skills of warcraft helped the Allied to win and capture German position in Africa.
Montgomery has a long rage of awards (about 23). Not only British government awarded Bernard but also American, Belgian, French, Polish, Norwegian and others awarded him with honour.
To conclude I'd like to say, that Montgomery's contribution to the history of war is unbelievable. His courage and bravery saved many souls all across the battlefield.

Britain has a lot of outstanding people in its history. Thousands of names whore made a great contribution in their time lived in England. I think that all of us know about Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin or Winston Churchill, but now I am going to speak about the greatest dramatist of the history not only of Great Britan, but and of the whole world. Evereone know his name everywhere and I'm writing about William Shakespeare. This person was a real master of his work, because there are over 38 plays, 154 sonnets and 4 poems and even much more. He is the author of the numerous works such as Hamlet, A Midnight Summer Dream, Romeo and Juliet, King Lear and others masterpieces. And I think that speaking about his contribution to the history is senselessly. Shakespeare's books rank second place after bible in England. He is a real great person at all times. He was born on 23 of April 1564 in the family of artisan. Also I can say that thanks to Shakespeare, in English, according to the various information appeared from 1700 to 3200 new words. And many of the satellites of the planet Uranus were named after the works of Shakespeare. Although Shakespeare’s creations were accepted by people of his time, but the English poet really gained popularity a few centuries later. Thanks to all of his works now we can see a lot of operas, ballets, performances and even films.

    1. Very good Mistakes "whore" - who, " but and of the whole world" - but in the whole world, "Evereone know" - everyone knows, " bible" - the Bible, "appeared from 1700 to 3200 new words" - from 1700 to 3200 new words appeared. Your mark is 9!

  3. There have been many famous people in Britain during its existence. I want to tell you about Charles Darwin.
Charles Darwin was born on 12 February 1809 in Shropshire on the Darwin estate of mount house, in Shrewsbury. Charles didn't do well at school. Languages and literature were hard to come by. The boy's main passion is collecting collections and hunting. Later, the young Darwin had another hobby-chemistry, for which Darwin was even reprimanded by the head of the gymnasium. Charles Darwin graduated from high school with far from brilliant results. Darwin studied at the University of Edinburgh for two years. During this time, the future scientist realized that medicine is not his vocation. The student stopped going to lectures and became interested in making stuffed animals. Darwin made his first discoveries in the field of marine invertebrate anatomy. The young scientist presented his works in March 1827 at a meeting of the Pliny student society, of which he had been a member since 1826. In this same society, the young Darwin was introduced to materialism. Charles Darwin had a diary in which he compiled the Origin of species. The "origin of species" is a chain of arguments supporting the theory of evolution. The essence of the doctrine is the gradual development of populations of species by natural selection. The principles outlined in this paper have been called "Darwinism"in the scientific community.
Charles Darwin proposed to his cousin Emma Wedgwood on November 11, 1838. Emma and Charles had ten children. Children have reached a high position in society. The sons George, Francis, and Horace were members of the Royal society of England. Charles Darwin died at the age of 73 on April 19, 1882. He is buried in Westminster Abbey.

Now we’ll talk about the great singer, songwriter, vocalist of the rock band Queen - Freddie Mercury. On September 5, 1946, the greatest legend Farrukh Bulsara was born. And we, the whole world, knows him under the pseudonym Freddie Mercury. He’s the leader of the legendary group “Queen” and is on Britain’s greatest people list. In just 12 years old, he and his friends created his first band, “The Hectics”, which played at school events. But he was not only the creator of the group, but also the champion in wrestling and table tennis, the nominee "for excellence in all sciences and arts." “I won’t be a rock star, I will become a legend,” the great Freddy Mercury once said. And as we can see, so it happened. At 25, the musician created the world famous “The Queen”, a name, as well as an emblem. More than a decade after the creation of the group, in 1981, The Queen Greatest Hits' collection of best hits became the best-selling British album in the history of music (more than 25 million copies). On May 23, 2006, the American Association of Recording Companies assigned the album eight times platinum status. In addition, The Queen singles have been at the top of the UK singles chart for four consecutive decades since the 1970s. The song "Bohemian Rhapsody", written by Freddie, was recognized as the "Best Song of the Millennium", and in 2002 was named the most beloved pop song of the British in the history of music. No less famous “We Are The Champions” and “We will, we will rock you” were included in the list of the most popular songs in the world. The song “We Are The Champions” has become an unofficial anthem for winners of major sporting events. Freddie Mercury is recognized as one of the greatest vocalists of all time, as mentioned earlier. Freddie Mercury has a huge number of achievements, but he doesn’t have any awards. Perhaps this is due to the early departure of life. Freddie Mercury died when he was 45 years old. But a monument to Freddie Mercury was unveiled in his honor, and one of the asteroids in the main asteroid belt was also named after him. And name of this asteroid is Asteroid 17473 Freddiemercury.

  5. In our century, it is difficult to find a person who has not heard the word «Beatles». The legendary band with even more legendary songs is familiar to different generations of people thanks to its famous musicians. The band’s creator, John Lennon, has always stood out among the participants. He was the idol of millions, and his death is likened to the end of an entire creative era.
In 1956, he and his school friends founded the "The Quarrymen" team. The name of the band created by Lennon changed several times until the acronym «The Beatles» was released. The group found breakthrough success, but eventually broke up due to internal disagreements.
Lennon’s solo music creativity has amounted by seven albums, a couple of collections and several recordings of concerts. Besides music, John directed and tried himself as an actor. His own direction was directed at social tapes with political connotations. John also proved himself as a poet by publishing three collections of poems and puns.
An asteroid was named in his honor, as well as streets in various cities. In 2002, authorities of Liverpool renamed the main airport in honor of the singer, and in 2010 in the United Kingdom, Lennon was portrayed on a five-pound coin. The singer was posthumously awarded with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The songs he wrote are considered the best of all the «Beatles» songs. Even Lennon’s solo career got a stunning success. He invented the concept and made his band the most recognizable music brand in the world. Only a truly talented and gifted person could pull this off.

After this incident, he discovered their organization and decided to devote his life to it. Later, he moved to America and founded his own detective agency - Pinkerton National Detective Agency. As a result, one of the agency's achievements was the introduction of a system for identifying criminals based on photos and personal files. Before that, the faces of criminals were memorized by the police. The Pinkerton Agency was very popular in the United States. The agency 's detectives solved the most complex and complicated crimes. We can say, that Great Britain is the mother of prominent and outstanding people who have changed the world. One of the most famous people is Dawid Bowie. He was born on January 8, 1947 and died on January 10, 2014 at the age of 69. Dawid Bowie was a musician, rock singer, producer, painter and even actor. He has been making music for 50 years.

David Bowie became famous all over the world due to a song "Space Oddity", that came out at the same time with the first landing of people on the moon, so BBC used this song on television. For this song he was awarded the Ivor Novello Prize. Bowie worked with John Lennon, Carlos Alomar, Queen, Tony Visconti. He is also famous for changing images very often, but he kept his own recognizable style.

David Bowie received the American Saturn Film Award for the role in the film "The Man Who Fell to Earth". He entered the top ten most successful artists in the history of music in the UK. He also won two Grammy Awards (nomination "Best music video") and two BRIT Awards (nomination "Best British Solo Artist"). David Bowie included into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

He changed his surname to Bowie (real name is David Robert Jones), because he didn't want to be confused with Davy Jones, who is the famous member of The Monkees. By the way, Bowie is the name of combat knife (Bowie knife). And my favourite fact is that David Bowie formed the band The Hype in the 1960s, where every member went on stage dressed as superhero.

Undoubtedly, Bowie was far ahead of his time in art. His contribution to the music industry is just invaluable. Entire generations will remember his merits.
